Williams did not have a reach advantage. Sonny had a huge reach advantage
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I never realized Duran was that much older than Castro? Duran is amazing.
As was frequently the case, Patterson tried to assist his fallen opponent. I've noticed Dempsey did the same. I think Floyd understood the sense of humiliation in being knocked out, lying on the canvas, exposed to the world. Paradoxically, it was important to protect the man he'd put in that situation- one he knew himself from personal experience. He was a gentle man in a violent trade.
Read Night Train by Nick Tosches to get a handle on Sonny . A great read .
It was hard then hungry fighters trained hard different days
GRANDE ARCARI
My uncle fought Harold Johnson in 8/4/1947 my uncle Al Pinel. Would you happen to have video footage or pictures from the fight. At Philadelphia municipal stadium
Does anyone know what caused Davis to pass at age 42?
A dream match would have been Liston vs. Tyson. Pure power!!
Revolutionary footwork and defense, with blinding speed, elite ring IQ, and pinpoint accuracy. He'd be a handful for any boxer, ever.
Very good counter puncher
A treat to see thug Richardson flattened.
0:55 he was playing patty cake on his head 😂 Legendary
Westphal's corner man is smoking ... what a crazy time!
Right on the chin!
Finally I hear him speaking it's so cool
Maxim was still a good, solid fighter. Excellent jab (though my father thought it was ludicrous to compare it to a maxim gun). Also a solid right hand, especially inside with the uppercut. Cus must have had a lot of confidence in Floyd to match him so tough so early in his career. Though some deny this here, Floyd does look smaller than Maxim. At 168 he's a muscular but still slender kid with more filling out to do-- nowadays a "super-middleweight." Excellent bout and since there is only half the bout here, it's hard to tell if it really was a bad decision.
NO POLITICA
After many years of complaining Ingemar finely got his Olympic Medel. The SQUEKY WHEEL GETS THE GREASE.
I think Sharkey would beat Tunney
Ingo got hit by a hard punch in the 1rst round, and it scared him,so he ran til the fight was stopped.
그당시 푸에르토리코 원정에서 고메즈와 저정도 싸운건 대단한것 염동균은 한국이 역대 자랑한 밴덤급챔피온
The greatest left hook ever thrown in a professional boxing ring - thrown by the greatest fighter to ever lace them up. Always worth revisiting to see how it should be done by THE expert in the squared circle - thanks for uploading.
Camacho hands down. He even had a jab that he created. Teddy Atlas praised that in a video.
The man who destroyed boxing with foolery bouts making it all about the money. Bobs comments on mayweather vs. Castillo 1 sealed the fight for floyd. Although many claimed (including announcers), castillo was definitely up in points, and they felt he had won. I believe it was the reason floyd fought castillo again. Plus, Chavez had a better undefeated record before any losses.
watch deon compared to 20s-50s and /foreman and louis it's compares of how those fighters fought vs deontay and Foreman and guys he fought
That was a beautiful left hook
Good fight siki RIP
This is a brutal great fight a heavyweight Hagler vs Hearns fight. You don't try to knockout Sonny Liston in the 1st round. Forget Liston vs Ali 2. Liston in his prime would knockout a Joe Frazier or Mike Tyson early. Liston also could box. Great left jab 84 inch reach. Liston had more reach then Williams announcer wrong here
Williams was bigger, faster, stronger with more fight experience, and had the reach advantage. He never should have lost the fight
Williams chin was not that good, while Liston had a great chin.
you are good until 37
Buddy bear is the tallest known boxer at that time at 6ft 6.4 inches tall along with Jess Willard who was the same height.
The eight count when Ingo was down gave Floyd time to recover, because he was still dizzy but Ingo wasn't.
The greatest heavyweight champion of all time!
Foreman was never a technical sound fighter. He was big and strong and maybe he thought that was good enough. The punch-combination--putting punches together--was almost never there or awkward at best. Not much of a defense to speak of, head movement, nothing, and we can see how this guy here (whom I never heard of before) could land punches on Foreman's face with no difficulty. The way of blocking punches is not something of a beauty either but...to his credit, he was one of the hardest punchers and that gave him world championship.
Esto solo lo gana en Luna Park, lo iba a matar el gran Morocho.
THANKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THANKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
7:59 good defense
5:51 duran reflexes are amazing
Con todo respeto los que vimos esas grandes peleas welter pluma gallo completo inolvidables peleas muchas gracias por recordarlas saludos
Tongazo.Westphal estaba loco por tirarse.
A pretty good match between 2 old veterans. Maybe Louis wasn't what he once was, but Savold knew his way around the ring...an old pro
Not to mention a fake ending, from one mob family to another....the signs are very clear
No the fix is in here, just watch...the referee let's 5 uncontested kidney shots to a defenseless Lane anticipating a break
Posted a 100 years after the fight. Gaad dam. And I am watching it 115 years after the fight took place.
Wesphal actually did it quite well till he got knocked out. Better than Patterson did in Sonny's next fight.!!!
